At SECUREIT, we believe that effective fire prevention starts with the basics. That’s why we kicked off our week with a thorough audit and inspection of a client’s fire extinguisher provision — a critical, yet often underestimated, part of any fire safety system.
As one of the fastest growing fire prevention and CCTV security solutions providers in Wales, SECUREIT works with businesses across a wide range of sectors to deliver comprehensive safety strategies. From Cardiff to Carmarthen, our team supports clients in ensuring their premises are fully equipped, compliant, and prepared for any emergency.
Fire extinguishers are often installed and then forgotten — but they play a crucial role in mitigating fire risk in the early stages of an incident. Whether in an office, warehouse, shop, or hospitality venue, it’s vital that extinguishers are:
- Accessible and clearly marked
- Of the correct type for the environment (CO₂, water, foam, powder, etc.)
- Present in the right quantity and location
- Regularly inspected, tested and maintained
A poorly located or unmaintained extinguisher is of limited value when it matters most. That’s why we recommend regular checks and a professional review to ensure your equipment is both compliant and effective.
Managing Director Philip Popham explains:
“At SECUREIT, our priority is protecting people, property, and peace of mind. Fire extinguishers may seem like a simple solution, but their importance should never be underestimated. We often find that a quick inspection can reveal gaps in provision that would otherwise go unnoticed. We’re here to make sure everything is in place and functioning as it should be — before you ever need it.”
If you’re unsure about your current extinguisher setup or would simply like a second opinion, our expert team is here to help. A small step today could make a life-saving difference tomorrow.
