At SECUREIT, we know just how devastating fire can be — not only in terms of property damage and financial loss, but also the emotional toll it takes on those affected. That’s why we were deeply saddened to hear of two major fire incidents in Abergavenny in recent months.
In November 2024, The Magic Cottage, a much-loved local charity supporting children with additional needs and life-limiting illnesses, suffered a catastrophic blaze. The fire destroyed everything the organisation had built. Thanks to the incredible efforts of more than 100 firefighters and a strong emergency plan, nearby residents were kept safe — but the loss for the charity has been immense.
Then in April 2025, popular American barbecue restaurant Fire and Fork was also hit by a serious blaze, forcing its indefinite closure. The business had quickly established itself as a firm favourite in the area since opening in 2023, and the fire has left a gap in the local community.
At SECUREIT, we stand with the people and businesses of Abergavenny at this difficult time. Fires can happen suddenly and spread fast — but with the right fire prevention and detection systems in place, many incidents can be mitigated or avoided altogether.
We would like to remind business owners in Abergavenny and beyond that SECUREIT offers comprehensive fire detection, alarm, and prevention solutions. Whether you’re running a hospitality venue, a charity, a retail unit, or an office, we can design and install a system tailored to your needs — and regularly inspect it to ensure it’s working at full effectiveness.
John Reid, Key Accounts Manager at SECUREIT, says:
“The recent fires in Abergavenny are a heartbreaking reminder of how essential robust fire safety systems are. We’re here to help businesses take proactive steps to protect their people, premises and future.”
