How to Keep Your Business Car Park Secure – Top Tips from SECUREIT

Company car parks are often overlooked when it comes to workplace security. Yet, they are vulnerable areas that can attract criminal activity if not properly protected. At SECUREIT, one of Wales’ fastest growing fire prevention and CCTV security providers, we understand the importance of safeguarding every corner of your business – including staff and visitor parking areas.

Whether you operate a small office or a large commercial site, there are several proven security measures that can help keep your car park secure and your employees feeling safe.

Key Solutions for Car Park Security:

1. CCTV Surveillance – Installing high-definition cameras with clear lines of sight across the car park helps deter criminal behaviour and provides valuable evidence in the event of an incident. With our monitored CCTV systems, you’ll benefit from 24/7 oversight from our South Wales-based control room.
2. Access Control Systems – Whether it’s barrier entry, keycard systems, or automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), controlling who enters your car park is a vital part of keeping it secure.
3. Perimeter Protection – From secure fencing to intruder alarms and motion-activated lighting, physical barriers and environmental deterrents are essential components of an effective car park security strategy.

Three Top Tips for Business Owners:

1. Conduct Regular Risk Assessments – Understand the specific vulnerabilities of your car park, including blind spots, lighting gaps, or unauthorised entry points.
2. Invest in Visible Deterrents – Signage, CCTV cameras, and barriers send a clear message that your premises are protected and monitored.
3. Choose the Right Partner – Work with an accredited security provider like SECUREIT to ensure your systems are professionally installed and maintained to the highest standards.

“As businesses grow, so does the need to protect all areas of your premises – and that includes outdoor spaces like car parks,” says Philip Popham, Managing Director of SECUREIT. “A secure car park not only protects assets but also ensures your employees feel safe arriving and leaving work.”
