A loyal worker loves his job at SECUREIT so much that it has made its mark on him in more ways than one – after he decided to have his company’s logo permanently tattooed on his wrist. Giving the firm the ultimate stamp of approval, Liam Svensen, 22, says his job installing security systems “is not like work” because he has so much fun doing it. He was on holiday and missing his job so much he went to a tattoo studio and asked for the company logo to be inked on his wrist.
Liam joined SECUREIT as a trainee six years ago and has now progressed to work as an engineer installing CCTV and security systems across the UK. Since then loyal Liam has progressed to an engineer and says the company is more to him than just a job – so branded himself for life with the tattoo.
He said: “You do your work but you also have fun and enjoy yourself – it’s not like work then.
“It’s not so much work, but a good laugh at the same time.
“I’ve worked here since I was 16 when I left school and I’ve enjoyed working here. We’ve got a great team of people that work here.”
While on a holiday in Newquay, Cornwall, Liam went to a tattoo parlour and decided to get his first tattoo – which ended up being the company logo on his right wrist.
He said: “I love working here, I enjoy myself here, I enjoy my job so I decided to go have that tattooed on my wrist.”
The logo is a symbol that looks like an eye and replaces the first “e” in SECUREIT’s branding. And when Liam returned to the company HQ in Bridgend, his new inkwork raised a few eyebrows with his colleagues. He added: “First off everyone was really shocked because it’s not every day that somebody goes to get the company’s logo tattooed on them.”
Branded for life, Liam doesn’t see himself leaving the company any time soon – which is music to his boss’s ears. Company owner Philip Popham, 50, who set up SECUREIT 16 years ago said Liam is an excellent employee and they’re glad to have him. He added: “He’s an intelligent young man and could have gone on to college and university, but instead he wanted to be a security engineer – he really enjoyed it.”
Philip added that Liam started as a trainee at just 16 years old and was one of the quickest trainees to progress to an engineer – completing the programme in just over a year, instead of the standard two years.
“He’s progressed every year. He’s a smart chap and we’re very, very grateful we’ve got him. In all aspects of his job here, he’s excellent,” Philip said. When he first heard from one of his 18 employees that Liam had gotten the company logo tattooed on his wrist he said: “You’re kidding me’ – I couldn’t wait to see it”, adding: To be honest I’m not a big fan of tattoos – but it looked awesome. I couldn’t believe he got it done. That is dedication – he took it to another level.”’
So far, no one else has yet been inspired to get a matching company tattoo with Liam. SECUREIT think he is undoubtedly the person to ask if looking for advice on buying a home CCTV security system.
Liam advises when considering buying a CCTV or home security system for a town or city residential house, for example a home near me in Newport, Cardiff or Bridgend, there are several crucial factors to keep in mind to ensure you choose the right system for your needs. Firstly, assess your specific security requirements. Determine the size of your property, the number of entry points, and any vulnerable areas that may need extra protection. These will help you select the best home security cameras for your budget
Next, consider the features and technology offered by different security systems. Look for systems that include components such as cameras, motion sensors, door and window sensors, and alarm systems. Evaluate whether you prefer a wired or wireless Wi-Fi based system for your home surveillance system, as well as whether you want remote access and CCTV monitoring capabilities through a mobile app.
Budget is another important consideration when looking for affordable home security cameras. There are many different prices from cheap and affordable entry level CCTV systems to good value for money high specification systems – especially if bought with a discount or during a sale. Determine how much of your budget you are willing to invest in a home security system, keeping in mind not only the initial cost of installation but also any ongoing fees for monitoring services. You may even be able to spread the cost of the purchase of a home CCTV system with a monthly hire purchase or lease credit agreement.
Additionally, research the reputation and reliability of different CCTV security system providers in Newport, Cardiff and Bridgend. Read customer reviews on outdoor security cameras, ask for recommendations from friends or family, and inquire about warranties and customer support options. Many customers look for an experienced local company that they know they can rely on if any further support or upgrades are needed in the future.
Lastly, consider the scalability of the system including smart home security cameras. Choose a system that can easily be expanded or upgraded in the future as your security needs change. By carefully considering these factors, you can make an informed decision and select a home security system that provides the protection and peace of mind you desire in South Wales. From the moment you go for a home CCTV installation, and install a new CCTV system in your home, you have a high tech but relatively low cost and affordable way to give the home owner peace of mind every day of the year. Thanks for the advice Liam, and we look forward to seeing your next piece of tattoo art!
