SECUREIT’s Josh Popham Aims to Defend UK Over-13’s ScootGB Title in 2025
Josh Popham of SECUREIT has firmly established himself as one of the UK’s most exciting young extreme sports athletes after claiming the UK Over-13’s title at ScootGB, the national scootering championship for 2025. Now, with his sights set on defending his crown, Josh is preparing for another intense season of competition, determined to retain his national title this September.
The ScootGB Championship, which took place at a renowned extreme sports venue in Corby, Northamptonshire, saw Josh rise above fierce competition from the country’s top young scooter riders. His skill, precision, and fearless approach set him apart, earning him the prestigious title and cementing his place among the UK’s elite in extreme scootering.
In the build-up to his title defence, Josh is committed to an intense training regime, dedicating around 24 hours a week to perfecting his skills at his home venue, Ramp World in Cardiff. The hard work and dedication required at this level demand immense discipline, but Josh remains laser-focused on his ultimate goal—winning back-to-back national championships.
“My goal is to push my limits even further this year,” says Josh Popham. “Winning the UK Over-13’s title was an incredible achievement, but I know the competition will be tougher than ever in 2025. I’m putting everything into my training to ensure I’m at my best when it counts. I can’t wait to compete again and prove myself on the biggest stages.”
Josh’s journey to retaining his title begins with a series of high-profile competitions leading up to the ScootGB finals in September:
- Core Open in Blackburn – 7th June
- UK Qualifier in Deeside – 9th August
- Extreme Barcelona in Spain – 5th September
Competing internationally at Extreme Barcelona, one of Europe’s most prestigious extreme sports events, will provide Josh with invaluable experience against top riders from across the world, helping him refine his skills ahead of the UK finals.
Throughout his journey, Josh will be supported and mentored by his father, Philip Popham, who is not only his biggest supporter but also the Managing Director of SECUREIT. As both a proud father and a former professional sportsman himself, Philip understands the dedication and resilience needed to succeed at the highest level.
“It’s been amazing to watch Josh’s progression and see his hard work pay off,” said Philip Popham. “Winning the national title last year was a huge moment, but I know he’s hungry for more success. I’ll be right there supporting him every step of the way. I have no doubt that he will continue to impress and bring home more trophies this year.”
With a demanding training schedule and a calendar packed with crucial competitions, Josh Popham is more determined than ever to solidify his place as the UK’s top young scooter rider. As September approaches, all eyes will be on this rising star as he aims to retain his ScootGB UK Over-13’s title and further establish himself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of extreme scootering.
