National Pet Month at SECUREIT – meet Larry the Lab
April is National Pet Month, and here at SECUREIT, we’re celebrating the “paw-sitive” impact our furry friends have on our lives — both on and off the clock. As a family-run business rooted in our south Wales community, we know that behind every great fire prevention and security engineer is… a loyal four-legged companion waiting at home (or in today’s case, joining us on site).
So today, we had a very special visitor — Larry the Labrador, proud pet of our Operations Manager, Matthew Jones. Larry stopped by the SECUREIT HQ to say hello to the team, get plenty of belly rubs, a few treats and sniff out what we’ve been up to
Whether we’re installing high-spec CCTV camera systems or fitting out a commercial fire alarm, our work can be fast-paced and full-on. Having a dog like Larry around is the perfect reminder to slow down, get outside, and enjoy the little things.
We snapped a photo of Matthew and Larry chilling out in the cabin of a SECUREIT van, where Matthew shared:
“Working in the security industry can be intense — you’re constantly on the go, solving problems, thinking ahead. Having Larry around keeps me grounded. He’s a great motivator to get outside, clear my head and just enjoy a bit of fresh air. Bringing him in today was a great way to lift everyone’s spirits!”
SECUREIT managing director Philip Popham added: “We couldn’t agree more, Matt. And Larry, you’re welcome back anytime!”
Have you got a pet that helps you find your work-life balance? Share a pic with us and tag #SECUREITPets — we’d love to see them!
From all of us (and Larry!) at SECUREIT — happy National Pet Month
