Rising Business Crime Highlights the Need for Smarter Security Solutions from SECUREIT
Across the UK, business crime is escalating at an alarming rate, with recent figures revealing a significant surge in both theft and violent incidents. According to new data from the British Retail Consortium (BRC), there are now over 2,000 incidents of violence and abuse each day — more than triple the rate in 2020. This includes threats with weapons, physical assault, and verbal abuse.
Theft and property damage are also on the rise, costing businesses billions annually. In Wales alone, commercial theft and related security breaches now total around £100 million each year, affecting not just retailers, but offices, industrial sites, logistics hubs, and hospitality venues.
At the same time, confidence in police response remains low. Many businesses feel increasingly isolated when it comes to preventing crime and protecting staff, customers, and assets.
That’s where SECUREIT comes in. As one of Wales’ fastest-growing providers of fire prevention and CCTV security solutions, we specialise in helping businesses of all types and sizes reduce their risk and increase their resilience.
